Google Pay will be introducing new features next week to provide its users more control over the app’s personalized features. According to the company, Google Pay’s users will now be asked to choose whether they would like to upgrade to the next version of the app with new features.
The next version will bring with it more options as the users will be provided with more controls to decide how their Google Pay activity is used to personalize features within the app. With the next version of Google Pay, users will be able to choose whether they would like to turn the control on or off. If they decide to turn on the control, they will be provided with a more tailored experience within Google Pay. The app will function normally even with the control turned off.
“All users will be asked to choose whether they would like to turn the control on or off as soon as they upgrade to the next version of the Google Pay app,” Ambarish Kenghe, vice president-product at Google Pay.
Google said that the new version of the app would also allow users to control how their transactions and activity on Google Pay will be used for personalization by visiting account.google.com. There they can also view and delete individual transactions and activity records. After deletion, these activities will not be used by the app to deliver a personalized experience.
