For the 28th consecutive year, IBM has received the highest number of U.S. patents by a company in the duration of a year. Its leadership in acquiring U.S. patents in 2020 is due to the innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, quantum computing and security.
“IBM scientists and researchers received 9,130 U.S. patents in 2020, the most of any company, marking 28 consecutive years of IBM patent leadership,” said IBM in its statement.
