CIO Bulletin
You probably don’t require a 1TB hard disk anymore with the latest availability of microSD cards with massive storage of 1TB. SanDisk has come out with its 1TB Extreme MicroSD card for the first time ever and easily surpasses as the biggest sold in that size.
It is available now for $449.99 at SanDisk stores. Amazon too has listed the product and B&H Photo is also accepting orders for the memory card. However, for the time being, the card is unavailable in the US. European countries- Spain, Germany, and the UK can purchase the card- from Amazon as well. But don’t expect a one-day delivery. According to sources, it’s taking up to three months to actually receive this revolutionary piece of storage.
Tinier and tinier
Over the course of time, we’ve seen how the size of storage devices had shrunk. The Extreme series from SanDisk boasts of high capacity with 160MB/s read and 90MB/s write speeds. However, when you’re buying your MicroSD card, you better decide depending upon your usage. If you capture a lot of 4K videos, maybe the Ultra MicroSD cards will be a better choice as the speeds are much higher.
More importantly, when you set out to buy the 1TB microSD card, make sure that your device is compatible with it as many gadgets have a cap on the storage size. While its super cool to have a 1TB card, remember there are cheaper options in the market.
