Netgear wants Arlo customers to set new passwords for security issues

Hey there! All the Arlo security camera users. You need to change your passwords because it came to the notice of Netgear that a suspicious activity is carried by the attackers who are trying to misuse user accounts.

The attackers will use Arlo credentials gleaned from an unknown third-party source. "At this stage, we have no reason to believe our own systems have been impacted," according to Netgear community manager DawnM. For this reason the customers are requested to change the password.

To change your android password:

  • Launch the Arlo app
  • Tap Settings > Profile
  • Enter your present password
  • Enter your new password and confirm it
  • Say ok to confirm the password

To change computer password:

  • Log in to your Arlo account at
  • Click Settings > Profile
  • Enter your current password
  • Enter your new password and confirm it

The company is requesting its users to change passwords in every website, app, or service they use and it also said that forum thread will be updated with additional information.
