SAP and Uber Freight are looking to modernize the freight industry through a comprehensive partnership. The partnership will see them deploy intelligent process automation and leverage the power of networks.
The foremost step that will be taken in the coming times under the partnership will be the integration of Uber Freight into the SAP Logistics Business Network. The collaboration will let the users access the rates for transportation from Uber’s digital carrier network in real-time. Thus, it will give them an idea of the guaranteed freight capacity for a specified price and will simplify load management. The collaboration between the two companies will remove many roadblocks and streamline operations.
Commenting on the partnership Bill Driegert, Senior Director at Uber Freight said: “Uber Freight is partnering with SAP to bring shippers and carriers together at the level where freight decisions are being made. This innovative tech-forward approach to freight means shippers can spend less time sourcing quotes and capacity and more time getting goods to market.”
The effort made by the company is bound to deliver good cost savings along with a raised customer experience. On top of this, the partnership will change the planning process and better utilize capacity which will help the freight industry take a positive step towards environmental sustainability.
