Ingenico Group is a payments systems provider and it partnered with Google Pay for making it easy for consumers to make transactions using firm’s terminals across the UK.
With the help of Google Pay Smart Tap, UK customers can pay their bill from cell phones at Ingenico’s in-store point of sale systems and can transfer loyalty information, coupons etcetera. Ingenico stated that this tie up will help elevate brand loyalty for those participating retailers and merchants.
Pali Bhat, vice president of product management at Google Payments said: “We're excited to work with Ingenico to enable brick-and-mortar merchants of all sizes to make payment smarter and more seamless for their mobile-connected customers.”
This application is currently available in UK and shortly will reach other parts of the world in due course. Michel Léger, executive vice president for innovation at Ingenico said that he is happy with the collaboration because it enhances consumer experience at the point of sale with Google Pay Smart Tap.
He just didn’t say that, he also mentioned that its launch in the UK is “a first step in an international deployment”.
