Xiaomi which already has a 30W wireless fast charging in its latest flagship just revealed its fast charging solution officially on its YouTube channel. The video shows the charging of a mobile device on a wireless charging stand from 0% to 100% in just 40 minutes. This phone looks like a custom Mi 10 Pro presumably having a 4000mAh battery.
While the 30W charger took 50 minutes to charge the phone, the new 40W charger can charge in just 40 minutes. While there is no disclosure about reverse charging, it will be interesting to see how soon Xiaomi will bring this new technology to consumer devices.
Interestingly, OPPO's 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 is currently the most powerful wired fast-charging technology in the world. It can charge a 4000 mAh battery from 0-100% in about 30 minutes. Xiaomi has also shown its prototype of a 100W fast wired charging solution which is almost twice as fast as the SuperVOOC. Xiaomi calls it Super Charge Turbo which can charge a 4000 mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 17 minutes. It hasn’t brought out any smartphone to support the tech but it’s in the final stages of mass producing new phones which will.
The new 40W wireless fast charging solution is expected to come in as next year’s flagship from Xiaomi.
