Xiaomi which will be announcing its 2020 flagship on 13th February officially confirmed on Weibo a few of its specs today.
The brand new Mi 10 comes with the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 865 which has a highly advanced ISP (Image Signal Processing) unit. The inclusion of AI in computational photography provides a lot of power to users. It can record videos up to 8K 30fps in HDR 10+ and Dolby Digital Format.
Although the Snapdragon 865 packs in a lot of features, the Smartphone companies must be ahead in adopting the latest hardware. Xiaomi has always been great when it comes to equipping its devices with the latest hardware support.
With the Mi 10 series, Xiaomi is including the recent 108 MP flagship sensor from Samsung. The resulting image file size can be huge for which Xiaomi introduced the native support for HEIF (High-Efficiency Image Format). The HEIF is a very advanced file format, which supports live photos like GIF, 10-bit color output, more details with comparatively less size (up to 50% less size with same details) than JPEG. The presence of LPDDR5 RAM and Faster UFS 3.0 support, the image capture and opening will be much faster and smoother. Also, the 8K capture would require very fast memory.
The front cameras also support 120-frames slow-motion selfie video like slofie, introduced in the latest iPhone 12. Also confirmed officially, the Mi 10 will also support 10x hybrid optical zoom and 50x digital zoom.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 series launch event is scheduled for 13th February in China and 23rd February Globally in Barcelona, Spain.
