Redmi which is popular for its powerful midrange phones is launching the Note 9 series soon. Redmi India’s official twitter handle confirmed with a post that the new Note 9 series will be launching on March 12. It’s for the first time that Redmi will bring its Note 9 series first to India and not to China. Considering, Xiaomi is the number one smartphone brand in India, and India is the second largest smartphone market in the world, Xiaomi seems to be changing the pattern.
Interestingly as shown in the tweet, the number “9” encloses a camera module and a four-camera array on the back, housed in a square cutout. It will be interesting to see a quad-camera in a budget mid-range smartphone. As Redmi has been teasing about the NAVIC system, it is expected to have the latest Snapdragon 720G which was recently released with the NAVIC support.
The tweet shared by Xiaomi India head, Manu Kumar Jain, also shows the phone’s bottom displaying a type-c port, speaker grill, and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. The tweet also reveals that the upcoming Redmi Note 9 will offer a “ProCamerasMaxPerformance”. The previous iterations of Redmi Note series, namely Note 7 series and the Note 8 series had made it to the top 10 selling smartphones.
Moreover, the device will be Amazon India exclusive, as it’s already live on the Amazon India page.
