Poco has announced its latest phone, the Poco M2 pro which will be launching on July 7, 12 PM. The Flipkart landing page is already live. This will be the third phone from Poco since its inception.
Poco was launched as an exclusive brand to India in August 2018, when it launched one of the most popular smartphones, the Poco F1. Since then it didn’t launch any phone in 2019. Only this year it has become active and released Poco X2 earlier this year in Feb and marked its international presence by launching Poco F2 pro in Europe, although it was a rebrand of Redmi K30 pro.
Poco had earlier promised that this phone will not be a rebrand of any phone. Instead, it will have a fresh design and specs. Rumors suggest it will have a Snapdragon 720G processor. The launch page on Flipkart clearly shows it will have a quad rear-facing camera and a fast charger, notably more than 18 or 27 watts as it is the highlighting feature of the phone.
Poco has been trying hard to portray itself as an independent brand moving away from its parent company, Xiaomi. A recent hike in taxes in India and supply chain issues due to the COVID pandemic has raised the prices of already released smartphones.
With anti- China sentiments at a peak, people are reluctant to buy Chinese branded products unless it can give an unmatchable price to performance ratio. The Poco M2Pro will be Flipkart exclusive and will be available to buy after the launch on July 7 in India.
