iQOO which is a subsidiary of BBK Electronics just announced the launch event of its upcoming flagship smartphone. The brand shortly worked as a sub-brand of VIVO but now is looking to go beyond the Chinese market and expand as an independent brand. Realme too had remained as OPPO’s sub-brand for the first few launches and then separated and established itself as a successful brand.
The iQOO 3 5G will launch on February 25th, at 2:30 PM China time, which will be hosted online via live stream.
Although the specifications haven’t been confirmed officially, Geekbench scores show that it has a Snapdragon 865 paired with 12GB of RAM.
The confirmed specs made official by iQOO include UFS 3.1 storage which is a first in the smartphone industry. Even the recently launched flagship Samsung Galaxy S20 series has just UFS 3.0 storage. The UFS 3.1 standard for storage promises faster write speeds, lower power usage, and much more stable performance under heavy load.
The other Source, TENNA listing, suggests that the phone will have a quad-camera setup including a 64MP primary camera.
iQOO actually started as a "gaming phone" at first, but now it is shaping into a phone with a mainstream design but at a more affordable price. The price is an important aspect of iQOO 3 5G just like the previous iQOO smartphones which have been priced very aggressively in the past.
