Huawei has brought a major redesign for its AppGallery, emphasizing more onthe discovery and improved navigation. The company said that the section would be partly curated by a team of editors based upon local trends. "The enhancements to AppGallery reflect the success of Huawei's App ecosystem, which has grown its global user base to over 530 million monthly active users in the past year. The new design showcases App and Games with bigger, bolder designs across the entire user experience," Huawei said in a statement.
A Twitter user Rodent950 shared a video of the redesigned AppGallery in action. It shows that the AppGallery is highly inspired by Apple's App Store. The newly added "Featured tab"will show a card-style feed that gives a quick overview of the featured apps, including pictures, guides, and articles relating to the app. The Featured tab has also been updated to scroll vertically from top to bottom, from newer to older apps, just like a regular feed.
A Campaign tab will show app promotions like Cashback discounts, 'Lucky Draws,' and Challenges, which reward users for trying or buying new apps. Gifts include free trials for premium services or in-game credits.Huawei's App Gallery now has over 500 million monthly active users and has seen its app store's rapid growth over the last year. Google has pulled out its services from Huawei devices. The latest update to App Gallery is now rolling out across Europe, including countries Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Romania, Czechia, Poland, Bulgaria, Turkey, Austria, Lithuania, Hungary, and Ukraine.
