Asus has officially released its latest Flagship smartphones, Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro in an event in Taiwan. Although, earlier rumors had pointed about rumors of 60Hz LCD panel Asus saved its Flagship from disaster. However, a 120Hz panel would have been great for most of the users, the difference between a 90Hz panel and a 120Hz panel is not much noticeable.
The Asus Zenfone 7 has the Snapdragon 865 while the Zenfone 7 Pro has the latest Snapdragon 865+ chipset. Both support 5G and come with a 90 Hz AMOLED panel made by Samsung. The screen is a 6.67 inches Full HD panel with HDR 10+ support and also has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.
The most interesting aspect of the phone is its full view display with no cutouts, thanks to the flip camera which became popular since the Zenfone 6. This time the camera module is upgraded to have a triple camera ( 64 MP wide-angle +12MP ultra-wide + 8 MP 3X optical zoom sensor). The same camera rotates up to the front to give your variety of lenses to take the selfies as well as 8K recording at the front.
The Zenfone 7 lacks OIS while the Zenfone 7 pro has it which is only the second difference apart from the processor. The phone can technically record both front and back videos at 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60/120fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, 720p@480fps in HDR.
The Phone comes with a 5000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, with also support to limit to slow charging for battery longevity. For connectivity, it has USB Type- C, with USB Power Delivery 3.0, and support for reverse charging. Also, it has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The fingerprint sensor is a side mounted embedded in the power button itself.
Both the phones have the highest storage variant up to 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage up to 256 GB. The prices of the phones in Taiwan have been announced for Asus Zenfone 7 5G at 6GB+128GB for NT$21990 and 8GB+128GB for NT$23990. The Asus ZenFone7Pro 5G comes at 8GB+256GB: NT$27990. The phones are already available to purchase in Taiwan, while the global availability will be announced soon.
