The entry-level JioPhone Next will be one of the most affordable 4G smartphones globally.

Jio, which created a revolution with its affordable feature phone in 2017, is now gearing up to launch a 4G smartphone in partnership with Google. The JioPhone Next smartphone was announced at the 44th Reliance Industries Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June this year. Now the folks at XDA Developers have revealed more details of the upcoming device scheduled to go on sale in India on September 10. The image shared by XDA Developers shows a screenshot of the phone’s boot screen, which says “JioPhone Next Created with Google.”

The JioPhone Next will ship with Android 11 (Go Edition) and feature a single rear camera, along with an HD+ display. It will pack in an entry-level Qualcomm 215 processor, a 64-bit, quad-core mobile processor with the Qualcomm Adreno 308 GPU, and comes with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon X5 LTE modem.

The display will be a 1440×720 resolution. The Jio Phone Next will feature 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It will have a single 13-megapixel single rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera at the front. The Jio Phone Next will have support for Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, up to 1080p video recording, LPDDR3 RAM, and eMMC 4.5 storage. As the phone has been developed in partnership with Google, Jio has managed to pack in feature voice assistant, language translation, smart camera with AR filters, and more.

Going by the specs, the specification looks mediocre, but considering its price of less than Rs.4000 or $50, it can again bring another wave of revolution in the Indian Telecom market. As per the announcement made by ChairmanMukeshAmbani, the entry-level JioPhone Next will be one of the most affordable 4G smartphones globally.
