If you are owning a 13-inch MacBook Pro, you are eligible to check your old battery before it swells up and can replace it with a new battery for free. This programme was introduced by Apple for those who own a 13 inch MacBook Pro, without the touch bar.
Apple said the models introduced between October 2016 and 2017 have faulty components which can lead to battery expansion. Since this problem has to be addressed, Apple is replacing batteries free of charge. If you are one of the affected owners, you can access the unit’s serial number and submit it to Apple’s support page. The serial number can be found under "About this Mac" after clicking on the Apple logo in the top menu.
Users are offered with three ways to fix the problem:
Users can benefit from this offer up to five years post first retail sale of the unit. But for those who already paid for battery replacement can contact Apple for a refund.
