The Nigerian data analytics company Terragon has acquired Bizense in an attempt to increase its global presence. Earlier this year, the Nigerian company has made its intentions clear that it is keen on scaling up its operations. With this acquisition, it comes through with its plans.
The acquired company, Bizense, is a mobile technology company that is based out of Singapore. Bizense through its Adatrix platform includes revenue optimization, white label SSP and data analytics as its offerings.
The acquisition is first of its kind in the African continent. The costs associated with the acquisition were not made public by either of the companies involved. But according to some media reports the acquisition is being done through the combination of cash and stocks.
Although the acquisition is substantial for the Lagos-based Terragon for their global plans, they still remain focused on their business in Africa right now. Their data and AI enabled platforms are being used to help SME’s, FMCG’s, telecoms and financial institutions all over Africa. Terragon has a great presence in Africa with 100 employees on its payroll located in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya.
With the brand new acquisition, the company will be able to welcome new clients and offer its existing clients more. Such technology acquisitions are rare thing coming from Africa. But more will be encouraged to think of global expansion seeing this.
