Oracle, a popular name in the global software market, has recently made an announcement that its Hyderabad and Mumbai cloud regions have received certifications to be able to work with the Indian public sector and government. With this latest announcement, the company is all set to expand its cloud platform for public sector adoption. The company has stated that it had to go through a stringent audit process in order to receive approval from the MeitY. The audit process has reportedly lasted for few months for Oracle to become an approved cloud service provider for the public sector and government firms.

One of the highly expected opportunities from the government’s side to Oracle is the health mission platform that the Indian health ministry is planning to build. Even the Indian education ministry is all set to build a platform for the K-12 students, among other projects. Debapriya Nanda, Head of Oracle India’s Public Sector Business, has stated that for a long time, Oracle has been an existing vendor for various sectors, and most of the departments were already in discussion about the same due to Oracle’s Cloud infrastructure and tools. As of now, many government ministries like the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, among others, make use of Oracle’s solutions.
